Nylon vs Satin; How to Choose the Correct Bonnet or Scarf

Covering you hair at night helps maintain healthy hair by keeping moisture in and away from your cotton sheets. But how do you know you’re getting the proper nighttime protection?

The answer is satin! When it comes down to protecting your tresses from breakage and loss of moisture, satin provides the best protection. Unfortunately, most scarves and bonnets sold in beauty supply stores are made with unauthentic satin or nylon. It is important to pay attention to the material upon making a purchase.

Although nylon does not directly damage your hair, it doesn’t offer the same level of protection as satin. Nylon is made with loose weaving, which allows moisture to escape, whereas satin traps that moisture in. As you all know, anything unauthentic cannot top the real thing. Fake satin is less durable and you may find yourself having to purchase more bonnets or scarves due to its inability to last.

Satin guarantees waking up with hair moisturized and edges still intact. Make the better choice.
